Kate Crawford is a scholar whose work examines artificial intelligence and its social effects. Her career has included a professorship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, leading research at Microsoft Research in New York, and serving as the first visiting professor for AI and justice at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Her book “Atlas of AI” received several awards, was translated into more than ten languages, and was named one of the books of the year by, among others, New Scientist and the Financial Times. Time magazine included Crawford in its TIME100 list of the most influential people in AI.
