Karsten Schwanke (born 1969) is a German meteorologist, journalist and television presenter. Since 1995, he has presented weather forecasts for the ARD network, including “Das Wetter im Ersten,” “Das Wetter im ARD-Morgenmagazin,” “Wetter vor acht” and the weather segment on “Tagesthemen.” He has also hosted science programs such as “Chamäleon,” “Kopfball” and “Abenteuer Wissen,” as well as “SMS – Schwanke meets Science” since 2018. He received the Goldene Kamera in 2010 for “Abenteuer Wissen.” He was nominated for the Grimme Award in 2019 and received the Medal for Science Journalism from the German Physical Society in 2022.
