Karlheinz Ruhstorfer

Karlheinz Ruhstorfer (born 1963) studied German studies, philosophy and Catholic theology in Munich and Freiburg. He received his doctorate in 1997 and completed his habilitation in dogmatics and philosophy of religion in 2003. From 2006 to 2013, he was Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Koblenz-Landau, followed by a professorship at the Technical University of Dresden until 2017. In 2017, he was appointed Professor of Dogmatics at the University of Freiburg. From 2019 to 2022, he served as vice dean of its Faculty of Theology. His research areas include the doctrine of God, Christology, the theology of grace, the history of theology and philosophy, and theological analysis of contemporary developments.
