Karl Olsberg (born 1960) earned a doctorate in artificial intelligence and worked as a management consultant and as a manager or marketing director for a television broadcaster. He also founded several start-ups and received, among other distinctions, the Wirtschaftswoche eConomy Award for best start-up in 2000. His first novel, “Das System,” was published in 2007 and immediately appeared on the SPIEGEL bestseller list. His publications include thrillers, books for young readers and children, and Minecraft novels. “Boy in a White Room” was nominated for the 2018 German Children’s and Young Adult Literature Prize.
