Karl Heinz Brisch, Dr. med. habil. and professor, was a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry, psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy, as well as neurology. He also worked as a psychoanalyst for children, adolescents, adults and groups and received training in psychotraumatology. Until 2020, he held the chair of Early Life Care at Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg and directed its associated research institute. Previously, he headed the Department of Pediatric Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital of the University of Munich for many years. There he developed the MOSES therapy model for children and adolescents affected by early trauma. He also developed the prevention programs SAFE – Secure Training for Parents and B.A.S.E. – Babywatching. Brisch was a founding member of GAIMH and organized the International Attachment Conference until 2022.
