Karin Koch (born 1961) is an author of children’s books, short stories, and texts in regional dialect. Before pursuing her writing career, she worked as a physiotherapist in her own practice. She received several awards for her dialect stories, including the Rotraud Dankar Authors’ Award in 2008 and the Hard Literature Prize in 2009. Her children’s book “Wär ich Pirat,” illustrated by André Rösler, won the NRW Children’s Book Award in 2013. Her other published books include “Tilda und der Duft der Welt” and “Wieke und Ken”.
