Karen Joy Fowler was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. At the age of thirty, she decided to become a writer and went on to write numerous short stories and novels. Her best-known works include the bestseller “The Jane Austen Book Club,” which was adapted into a film starring Emily Blunt and Hugh Dancy. Her novel “We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves” received the 2014 PEN/Faulkner Award and California Book Award and was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
