Kai Diekmann

Kai Diekmann (born 1964) is a German journalist. In 1982, while still a secondary-school student, he interviewed Helmut Kohl for a conservative student newspaper he had founded. During his military service, he completed an internship at Axel Springer Verlag, launching his career in journalism. He was editor-in-chief of Welt am Sonntag from 1998 to 2000 and subsequently headed Bild from January 2001 to January 2017. Diekmann was also a co-founder of the social media agency Storymachine.
