Jutta Treiber

Jutta Treiber (born 1949 in Oberpullendorf, Burgenland) is an Austrian author. She studied German and English at the University of Vienna and taught at a secondary school in Oberpullendorf from 1973 to 1988. She has worked as a freelance writer since 1988. Her oeuvre includes picture books, children’s and young adult books, novels for adults, poetry, plays, radio dramas and short stories. She has published around 50 books, which have been translated into more than 20 languages. Her work has received numerous awards, including the Würdigungspreis for Children’s and Young Adult Literature, the Burgenland State Prize for Literature and Journalism, and the Literature Prize of the Theodor Kery Foundation.
