Julian Barnes

Julian Barnes, born in Leicester in 1946, studied modern languages and initially worked as a lexicographer and journalist. He produced an extensive body of fiction and essays, including Flaubert’s Parrot, A History of the World in 10½ Chapters, Levels of Life and The Noise of Time. His novel The Sense of an Ending won the Man Booker Prize, and he received numerous other international literary awards.
