Joseph Delaney

Joseph Delaney was head of Film and Media Studies at Blackpool Sixth Form College. After more than ten years of unsuccessful attempts to write for adults, he followed his agent’s suggestion to turn to children’s fiction. His first published book was “Spook: The Apprentice,” the opening volume of the “Spook’s” series. The books were inspired by ghost stories and folk tales from Lancashire, as well as by places and local legends from the region. Following the international success of the series, Delaney left teaching and worked as a full-time writer.
