Josef Lada (1887–1957) was a Czech illustrator and author. He became known for his illustrations for Jaroslav Hašek’s “The Good Soldier Švejk.” In the 1930s, he wrote and illustrated the stories of Mikeš the Cat. Lada came from a village in the heart of Bohemia.
