Jonny Bauer, born Carsten Johannisbauer, studied culture, aesthetics and media. He has published several children’s books and novels. Alongside his work as an author, he worked as art director at the Düsseldorf design agency Blurr, which oversees art and design books. In 2024, he received the German Photobook Prize. He also taught at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, giving seminars in areas including children’s and young adult literature, graphic design and urban development.
