Jonathan Stroud

Jonathan Stroud was born in Bedford and initially worked as an editor. After publishing his first children’s books, he devoted himself entirely to writing. He became known for his internationally successful Bartimaeus series, comprising *The Amulet of Samarkand*, *The Golem’s Eye*, *Ptolemy’s Gate* and *The Ring of Solomon*. The books follow the adventures of the sharp-tongued djinni Bartimaeus.
