Jonathan Littell

Jonathan Littell was born in New York in 1967 to a Jewish family of Russian origin and grew up in France. He studied at Yale University. From 1993 to 2001, he worked for the humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger (ACF), including in Bosnia, Afghanistan, the Congo, and Chechnya. He is best known for his novel The Kindly Ones (2006), which received the Prix Goncourt and the Grand Prix du Roman from the Académie française. In 2016, he released the documentary film Wrong Elements about former child soldiers of the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda.
