Jonas Kratzenberg was born in the Rhineland in 1997. After completing secondary school, he joined the German Bundeswehr and underwent basic training with the Panzergrenadiers. He subsequently served as a temporary-service soldier and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2019, including in Kunduz and Mazar-i-Sharif. He later began an officer career but subsequently left the Bundeswehr and was honorably discharged. In 2022, he went to fight in Ukraine as a German legionnaire.
