John Witte

John Witte Jr. is a legal scholar and historian of religion. He held professorships in law and religion at Emory University in Atlanta, USA, and directed its Center for the Study of Law and Religion. His research focused on the legal history of the Reformation and the history of American law. His publications include the German-language work “Vom Sakrament zum Vertrag. Ehe, Religion und Recht in der abendländischen Tradition.”
