John Perkins

Born in 1945, John Perkins worked as a consultant for the international consulting firm MAIN from 1970 to 1982. He later left the company because of ethical concerns and founded IPS (Independent Power Systems), which developed sustainable energy systems; he sold the company in 1992. Perkins taught at several universities and was involved in founding the Dream Change Coalition, an organization concerned with environmental and social issues.
