Johannes Huber (born 1946) is an Austrian physician and theologian. After studying theology and medicine, he served as secretary to Vienna’s archbishop, Cardinal Franz König, from 1973 to 1983. He subsequently specialized in gynecology and obstetrics. From 1992 to 2011, he headed the clinical department of gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine at the University of Vienna, based at Vienna General Hospital. From 2001 to 2007, he chaired Austria’s Bioethics Commission. His research has focused on gender-specific medicine, genomic medicine, and bioethical questions at the intersection of science and religion. He has published numerous scholarly and popular-science books.
