Johanna Trommer was born in 1981 and grew up in Stuttgart. After studying interdisciplinary design at a state college in Cologne, she began her career as an editor and author of children’s and young adult fiction. The idea of setting a crime story for young readers in Stuttgart led to her first novel, “Mord im Opernhaus,” featuring computer enthusiast and amateur detective Karl Kessel. It was followed by “Karl Kessel – Eine Leiche für die Katz,” the second book in the series about the young Stuttgart detective.
