Johanna Schwering

Johanna Schwering (born 1981 in Hamburg) studied Latin American studies and comparative literature at Freie Universität Berlin. She worked as a freelance editor and translator from Spanish. Her translations include poetry by Maricela Guerrero and prose by Alia Trabucco Zerán and Valeria Luiselli. In 2023, she received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for her translation of Aurora Venturini’s novel *The Cousins*. She has also translated works by Legna Rodríguez Iglesias and Enrique Winter into German.
