Johann Georg von Hahn

Johann Georg von Hahn (1811–1869) was a German jurist and Balkan researcher. He studied in Giessen and Heidelberg and entered the Greek judicial service in 1834. From 1847, he served as Austrian vice consul in Ioannina, later becoming consul and consul general on Syros. Hahn undertook several extensive journeys through Albania, Greece, and the Ottoman Empire. He died in Jena in 1869, shortly after returning from Greece.
