Johann Georg Lughofer

Johann Georg Lughofer is an Austrian Germanist. He studied German, history, political science and philosophy in Vienna, Granada, Nice and Exeter. In 2004, he received his doctorate for a study of the influence and literary work of the Austrian exile community in Mexico. His academic career included positions at Peking University, the University of Exeter and the University of Ljubljana, where he completed his habilitation in 2009. He also taught at the universities of Maribor, Stellenbosch, Vienna, Klagenfurt and Innsbruck, where he served several times as a visiting professor. His scholarly interests include exile literature, Austrian literature, intercultural literary studies and literature in German-as-a-foreign-language education.
