Jody Houser is an American comic-book writer and screenwriter. She earned an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College in Boston and received the Rod Parker Fellowship for Playwriting for her master’s thesis in screenwriting. From 2006 onward, she experimented with webcomics, including “Cupcake POW!”, and began publishing stories in 2011. Houser has written “Faith” and “X-O Manowar” for Valiant, “Mother Panic,” “Supergirl,” and “Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy” for DC, “Web of Black Widow” and various “Star Wars” comics for Marvel, as well as work related to “Doctor Who,” “Stranger Things,” “Star Trek,” and “Critical Role.” Her Star Wars work includes adaptations of “Rogue One” and the novel “Thrawn,” along with the one-shots in the “Age of Republic” series. She has also described role-playing games as a personal passion.
