Joan Escandell

Joan Escandell, born in Ibiza in 1937, is a Spanish comic artist and illustrator. He worked for the publishing house Bruguera, contributing, among other titles, to the series “Captain Thunder.” He became widely known for his illustrations for “Joyas Literarias Juveniles,” a series adapting classic literature for young readers. In France, Escandell illustrated the series “Antares” (1975–1990), and in Germany he worked on a version of “He-Man.” He also contributed to Disney productions including “Cinderella,” “The Lion King,” “Hercules,” and “Pocahontas.”
