Jia Tolentino

Jia Tolentino, born in Toronto in 1988, grew up in Texas and studied literature and creative writing at the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan. She has worked as a cultural critic for The New Yorker. Her first book, *Trick Mirror*, examines the effects of internet and web culture on reality and the zeitgeist. Tolentino has said that she began engaging intensively with the internet at the age of ten.
