Jenny Schon

Jenny Schon trained as a bookseller and art dealer. In West Berlin, she ran her own bookshop and studied Sinology, journalism, philosophy, and art history. She worked at Freie Universität Berlin, among other roles with the philosopher Jacob Taubes, and taught Chinese philosophy. From 1995 onward, she published nonfiction, prose, and poetry as a freelance author. In 2016, she received the Andreas Gryphius Prize for her life’s work. Her novel *Der Duft der Bücher* was awarded the prize “Aufstieg durch Bildung.” During her studies, Schon traveled to China.
