Jennifer Worth

Jennifer Worth began working in London in the 1950s, first as a nurse and later as a midwife. Inspired by an article noting the lack of midwives in literature, she began writing a book about her professional experiences. The successful first volume was followed by three further books, which also became bestsellers. The series was adapted into a BBC television series of the same name.
