Jason Dark, the pen name of Helmut Rellergerd, was born in 1945 in Dahle in the Sauerland region and is a German writer. After training as a chemical technician, he joined Bastei Verlag as an editor in 1973 and initially wrote crime and western fiction. Under the name Jason Dark, he wrote the first novel in the “Gespenster-Krimi” series, thereby creating the character of the ghost hunter John Sinclair. The independent pulp series “Geisterjäger John Sinclair” began in 1978 and became his best-known work. In the 1980s, he also wrote the young adult series “Das Schlosstrio” under the pen name Red Geller. He wrote a large part of his novels on a mechanical Olympia typewriter.
