Janina Ramirez

Janina Ramirez (born 1980) is a cultural historian and scholar of literature and language. She studied English literature at Oxford and completed a doctorate at the University of York’s Centre for Medieval Studies on the art, literature and culture of Anglo-Saxon England. She taught in Winchester and Warwick and worked as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Oxford. As a BBC presenter, she presented documentaries and published scholarly articles and nonfiction for adults and children. Her best-known works include *Femina: A New History of the Middle Ages, Through the Women Written Out of It* (2022).
