Jana Scheerer

Jana Scheerer, born in Bochum in 1978, studied German literature, American studies and media studies. She worked as an academic staff member at the University of Potsdam’s Institute of German Literature and was a fellow of the Prose Writers’ Workshop at the Literary Colloquium Berlin. In 2004, she received the Literaturpreis Prenzlauer Berg for her debut, »Mein Vater, sein Schwein und ich«. Her book »Mein innerer Elvis« was nominated for the Oldenburg Children’s and Young People’s Book Prize and received the LUCHS award. Her work includes novels, short stories and plays.
