Jan Fleischhauer

Jan Fleischhauer, born in Hamburg in 1962, studied literary studies and philosophy before attending the Henri Nannen School of Journalism. He began his journalistic career at Der Spiegel in 1989 and worked there for around 30 years in various roles, including deputy head of the business desk, deputy head of the Berlin bureau, and economic correspondent in New York from 2001 to 2005. In 2019, he moved to Focus. He also became known for columns published under the title “Der schwarze Kanal.” His books include “Unter Linken. Von einem, der aus Versehen konservativ wurde” (2009), “Alles ist besser als noch ein Tag mit dir” (2017), and “How dare you! Vom Vorteil, eine eigene Meinung zu haben, wenn alle dasselbe denken” (2020).
