James Herriot

James Herriot was the pen name of British veterinarian James Wight (1916–1995). He grew up in Scotland, studied veterinary medicine in Glasgow, and worked as a veterinarian in the North Yorkshire Dales. Under the name James Herriot, he wrote warm-hearted stories about the life of a country veterinarian. He died in Thirsk, northern England, in 1995.
