James Bowen

James Bowen was the author and protagonist of the international bestsellers „A Street Cat Named Bob“ and „The World According to Bob“, as well as the follow-up „A Gift from Bob“. He also wrote children’s and picture books about his story with the cat Bob. In 2007, the stray cat approached Bowen, who took him in, nursed him back to health and named him Bob. Bowen had previously lived as a homeless person with a heroin addiction and had begun rebuilding his life, earning money as a street musician and selling the homeless newspaper „The Big Issue“.
