Ingeborg Feustel

Ingeborg Feustel (1926–1998) was a German writer. After training as a teacher, she taught until 1954 before working as a freelance author of children’s books from 1962 onward. She wrote for radio and television, created numerous children’s songs, and contributed to the children’s magazines BUMMI, ABC-Zeitung, and FRÖSI. She was also the creator of the characters Pittiplatsch, Moppi, and Plumps, whose programs became well known in East German children’s broadcasting. Feustel received the Fritz Reuter Prize and was awarded the Gold and Silver Laurel of East German Television several times. Her works were translated into several languages.
