Horst Bosetzky

Horst Bosetzky (1938–2018) was a German sociologist and writer. Born in Berlin, he was an emeritus professor of sociology and published scholarly works, novels, screenplays, and radio plays. From 1971 onward, he wrote numerous crime novels under the pseudonym “-ky,” including *Einer von uns beiden*, *Stör die feinen Leute nicht*, and *Die Bestie vom Schlesischen Bahnhof*; several of his works were adapted for film. His awards included the Prize for the Best German-Language Crime Novel (1980), the Prix Mystère de la Critique (1988), the Ehren-Glauser of the SYNDIKAT (1992), the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (2005), and the ver.di Literature Prize for Lifetime Achievement (2014). Bosetzky also served as spokesperson for the SYNDIKAT for ten years and was a founding member of QUO VADIS.
