Hisashi Kashiwai

Hisashi Kashiwai was born in Kyoto in 1952. His professional background includes working as a dentist and directing a dental clinic in Kyoto. He became known for the novel “The Restaurant of Lost Recipes,” whose success in Japan led to a multi-volume series that has also been adapted for film. His books are often set in Kyoto.
