Hiromi Ito

Hiromi Ito, born in Tokyo in 1955, is a Japanese writer. She first gained recognition in the 1980s as an innovative poet, noted for her new themes and modes of expression. She later published long poems, novels, and essays that cross the boundaries between literary genres. Her 2007 novel Dornauszieher received two major awards, one for poetry and one for narrative literature.
