Hilke Lorenz (born 1962) is a nonfiction author and editor at the Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper. Her books examine the impact of wartime experiences and totalitarian ideologies on children and subsequent generations. Her publications include Kriegskinder – Das Schicksal einer Generation (2003), a Spiegel bestseller, and Heimat aus dem Koffer (2009). In 2020, she received the Diakonie Journalism Award in the print category for her article “Ausgeliefert,” about children sent away from their families under the postwar child-placement system.
