Henning Beck (born 1983) studied biochemistry in Tübingen and earned a doctorate in neuroscience. He subsequently worked at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2012, he won the German Science Slam championship in Karlsruhe. His books include *Biologie des Geistesblitzes*, *Hirnrissig*, *Irren ist nützlich*, *Das neue Lernen*, and *12 Gesetze der Dummheit*, which focus in particular on neuroscience, creativity, and learning.
