Helma Sick (born 1941 in the Bavarian Forest) studied business administration. Before becoming known as a financial author, she worked as a secretary, typing instructor and head of a women’s shelter, among other roles. In 1987, she founded the financial consultancy “frau & geld,” which provides independent financial advice for women. Sick has published several financial guides and has written financial columns for Brigitte and Brigitte Woman.
