Helge Prinz studied pharmacy at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and qualified as a pharmacist in 1991. He received a doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Regensburg in 1995. He subsequently worked as a research associate at the Institute of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Münster. From June to October 1999, he was a visiting scientist at Keio University in Yokohama, Japan. Prinz was involved in teaching analytical and quantitative chemistry for pharmacists and co-authored the textbook “Qualitative Inorganic Analysis for Pharmacists and Natural Scientists.” His research focused on the synthesis and testing of low-molecular-weight inhibitors of tubulin polymerization.
