Helene Sommerfeld is the pen name of a German author couple. The name is best known for the historical trilogy about the physician Ricarda Thomasius, set in Berlin during the German Empire. The novels combine historical subject matter with medical themes; one volume in the series reached number one on the SPIEGEL bestseller list. Their other publications include the nonfiction book “Die Ärztin. Gesundheitstipps aus Kaisers Zeiten” as well as further novels and nonfiction works.
