Heinrich Pleticha

Heinrich Pleticha (1924–2010) was a German historian, author and editor specializing in travel, exploration and adventure literature. After studying history, German studies and geography, he entered the teaching profession. In 1986, he was appointed honorary professor at the University of Würzburg. Pleticha wrote and edited numerous nonfiction books, which reached a total circulation of more than five million copies. For Edition Erdmann, he edited, among other works, Henry M. Stanley’s account „Wie ich Livingstone fand“ („How I Found Livingstone“).
