Heike Flemming

Heike Flemming (born 1982 near Dresden) studied in Leipzig, Vienna and Budapest and received her doctorate in 2014 for a thesis on contemporary Hungarian fiction. As a translator from Hungarian, she translated works by authors including Péter Esterházy, Imre Kertész, Szilárd Borbély and László Krasznahorkai. Her awards include the Brücke-Berlin Prize in 2010, the Förderpreis zum Straelener Übersetzerpreis in 2014, and, in 2021, the Ginkgo Biloba Translation Prize for Poetry and the Hieronymusring awarded by the Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt Foundation.
