Heike Faller was born in 1971. After finishing school, she attended the German School of Journalism in Munich and studied ethnology and German studies. She worked for »Brigitte«, »GEO« and »SZ-Magazin«, and from 1999 onward was an editor at the German weekly »Die Zeit«. Her books include »Hundert. Was du im Leben lernen wirst« and »Freunde«, both illustrated by Valerio Vidali. The idea for »Hundert« arose when Faller looked at her newborn niece and imagined all that lay ahead of her in life.
