Heddi Feilhauer studied English and German literature. She worked as a lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin and for the Berlin Senate, and spent more than twenty years as a freelance translator, journalist, and editor. She wrote film criticism for the Berlin International Women’s Newsletter and translated and moderated bilingually at the International Literature Festival Berlin and the Berliner Literarische Aktion. Her translations include »Eine Frau von vierzig Jahren« by Vita Sackville-West, »Die verborgene Leidenschaft der Lily Bart« by Edith Wharton, »Beautiful Fools: Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald« by R. Clifton Spargo, »The Blacker the Berry« by Wallace Thurman, and »Banana Bottom« by Claude McKay.
