Harry Sidebottom

Harry Sidebottom earned a doctorate in ancient history from the University of Oxford and taught at several universities, including Lincoln College, Oxford. He grew up in the racecourses of Newmarket, where his father worked as a trainer. After publishing scholarly articles and a nonfiction book on ancient warfare, he turned to historical adventure fiction. From 2008 onward, he published several novels, including the Warrior of Rome series, which appeared in 14 countries. He also edited the Blackwell Encyclopaedia of Ancient Battles and wrote The Mad Emperor, a work of popular nonfiction on the ancient world.
