Harlan Ellison

Harlan Ellison (1934–2018) was an American writer, screenwriter, and critic. He began publishing short stories in 1955 and later also wrote novels, comics, and film and music criticism. During the 1960s, he wrote screenplays for film and television, including episodes of “Star Trek” and “The Twilight Zone.” His short fiction received numerous awards, including multiple Hugo Awards and four Nebula Awards. Before establishing himself as a writer, Ellison worked various jobs, including as a lumberjack, fisherman, department-store detective, and member of a carnival troupe.
