Harald J Freyberger

Harald J. Freyberger (d. 2018) was a German psychiatrist and psychotherapist. He studied medicine in Hamburg and Zurich, completed his specialist training at Lübeck University Hospital, and received his postdoctoral qualification there in 1995. After serving as a senior physician in Bonn, he became Professor of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Greifswald in 1997 and director of its university clinic in Stralsund. His research focused on psychiatric diagnostics, trauma, and dissociation. He contributed to the development and empirical evaluation of ICD-10 and Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnostics, and authored or edited several specialist books.
